Mechanical Engineer: Payload Structure

Working Hours: 11am to 4.30pm Saturdays

Minimum Commitment: 12 Months

Want to take our payload to new heights? BLUEsat Balloon Project is recruiting a mechanical engineering student (or related degree) with good experience in CAD, 3D printing, and general Makerspace handiness to help develop and maintain the outer frame, insulation and shelving structure for the balloon payload platform we are currently developing.

This NATO backed project is the perfect place to show off your awesome skills, and will make you highly sought after by employers. If accepted, you will have immediate impact in helping evaluate the quality of our balloon payload for near space-grade radar missions. Your knowledge will be put to practical use to create something that you can be proud of.


Good experience with CAD

General experience with Makerspace equipment

Good documentation skills


Knowledge of materials

Mechanical analysis skills in areas such as aerodynamics or FEA

An availability of at least 10 hours a week
